FS- 1991 Volvo 940 SE Turbo Sedan
#1
My Volvo is for sale. It's been a good little beater, but I'm moving on.

Specs:
2.3L turbo SOHC 4 cyl -- 160HP, 200 TQ
4 Speed automatic transmission, rear wheel drive.
Limited slip differential

Fully loaded interior including:
Heated leather
Heated mirrors
Power sunroof
power mirrors and 5 way power seats for driver and passenger.

Absolutely the most decked out Volvo you could buy in 1991. Last of the rear drive non-fordized Volvos. After this, they went to the craptastic front drive setup and lost alot of their reliability. The AC blows ice cold, and the heated leather seats will keep your ass at a deliciously warm temperature. It has good compression on all four cylinders. I have the numbers, but not with me right now.

That's the good.

The bad:
  • It needs a new heater core. The old one has cracked, and "fogs" if the heat is on. I installed a valve to cut coolant flow to the core to prevent this.
  • It uses a little bit of both oil and coolant. I do not know if the coolant loss is from the cracked heater core, but since there are no visible oil leaks, I can only suppose that the oil is being used by the turbocharger, so a rebuild mightbe in order for the 'charger in the next 25,000 miles
  • One day I reset my tripometer and broke my odometer. It's stuck at 255,XXX. I didn't bother to fix it.
  • Driver's side seat is worn, but after so many miles, is that really a surprise?
  • Driver's side tie-rod end needs to be replaced. I'll probably do this, as I have the part, I just need an hour or so to actually do it.

Yes, this car has a bazillion miles on it. But rear-drive volvos are known for lasting forever, and this car would probably be good to 300,000 without even touching it. Some minor work does need to be done, but nothing that effects the driving of the car. It has a *brand new* I mean, brand new Virginia state inspection, good until 2/06. The tires and brakes are in excellent shape, and there isn't a single spot of rust on the car, anywhere. The champagne paint is in great shape with no scratches or flaking or anything.

This would make a great daily for somebody. And while I know none of you MM'ers have any money, if you know anyone who'd like a nice, luxurious daily driver, please send them here.

It's worth every bit of $1000.00 USD, and that's what I'm going to ask. If you feel the need to haggle, then haggle away, but no whining if I don't like your offer.
