for reference, here is a video of me in my bone stock miata and a WRX with big turbo, dyno tuned UTEC, stoptechs, coilovers, etc etc. I know the owner, and its very similar to what you describe what you want your car to end up like.

would you rather be a slow guy in a fast car, or a fast guy in a slower car?
I know its hard for you to think of it this way, but the $$ spent on all those mods put towards seat time instead would make you much faster than the mods themselves.

trust me Ive been where you are. After buying my WRX I dumped $9k into it, courtesy visa. It took me a long time to recover from that, and afterwards, as much as I loved the WRX,
I realized that its the activity of driving that is more important than the car itself. The car is just a tool that we use for the fun!
In a miata, I can go to the track much more frequently, for less money, learn more and end up a better driver, and as a bonus I get a nice big ego boost when I fuck up some high HP shit
