Well no one seems to interested in this topic so I'll wrap the thread up.
At the flop you've got a 51% chance of catching a pair or straight at the turn or river.
If you think you're going to need a straight to win the hand (maybe your opponent holds a high pair or a set): you have a 32% chance of catching just that on the turn or river.
As it turns out, your opponent ws on a flush draw with AK meaning you only (haha) had to catch a straight or a pair. Now because a spade would help your opponent out you are left with 4 less outs. This gives you ten total outs and you need to catch one because your jack high is not the strongest hand.
This gives you a final percentage chance of winning at a little over 20%.
If you like being a 4:1 underdog with a 2:1 pay out...by all means make that call.
For the record though...the guy holding the 10J offsuit caught the 7 he needed for a straight and won the hand...proving even if you don't know what the fuck you are doing...you can get lucky.
And Mike...if you know people who move all their chips in with a stone cold bluff (as opposed to the semi-bluff I used), introduce me. I like playing with guys like that.
