We've been round the 2A argument a few times, and SCOTUS has ruled that its not absolute - i.e. it can be restricted.  

I have never pretended otherwise. 

But again I ask, would you want any "common sense speech laws"? Common sense voting laws? There's some crazy religious cults out there maybe we need some restrictions on what can be taught in a church.

Yes, I think the laws proposed in Richmond were off the mark, and the ones they DID pass (1 handgun a month, erpo, etc) were fucking dumb as well.

But they did try, and it is only because of my democratic participation and others like me that they didn't pass.

I'd rather they didn't try again, and especially not at a national level where individuals have less representation.
