If you're streaming music connect with a cord. Bluetooth compresses the files and kills quality and volume. I can tell a huge difference between the two in my car.

Bluetooth compression is much, much less harsh (2 Mbps) than the compression used in streaming music (~300Kbps). Sounds like maybe the transmitter or receiver is your problem.

I've always been under the impression BT was the issue. In my current car and previous car there is a noticeable difference in quality, volume, and base between BT or a wired connection. I just plug my phone in for carplay so it's not really an issue.
