well this thread's been dead for a while. not much to report, just gas and go at 106k miles. i still really look for excuses to drive it.
i picked up a set of stupidly cheap, Czek-make snow tires after Christmas from a local serviceman that had them on his focus at a German army base and they came with when he shipped back. they're old, but the tread's good and aggressive and is studdable which means the tread blocks will stand up to more abuse than typical unstudded winters.

i'm not even sure if i'll bother getting them balanced. i have no plans to ever drive them on pavement. they'll be going on my 16" wheels...and getting thrashed to rally destruction with no ragrets this year.

lots of little projects that are coming up, both maintenance and upgrades:
• finally got some plastic clips to properly secure the fender liner back to the fender on the front
• the original accessory drive belt (aka the only belt) is ready for retirement. still looks great though, i feel kinda bad tossing it but its cheap insurance.
• developed the classic 8th gen civic "wiper freakout" where water is able to get into the wiper motor gearbox case cover and screw with one of the electrical connections. result: the wipers turn on, or off, or go full speed, or do whatever they want really. its embarrassing and not very helpful. Honda corrected this goof with a new $10 gearbox case cover, and of course its under the cowl so that comes off again....sigh.
• itching to get the SPC adjustable rear upper control arms on. since i'm gonna have to get an alignment anyway, i should probably also replace the front strut tops "while i'm in there". they were new Moog units i put on when i installed the struts/springs and they're already crunching and popping. Moog has been letting me down more and more lately. back to OEM Honda parts for that.
• the Hankooks are on their last legs. i never really cared for the stock wheels, so i'm hoping if funds allow this year, to upgrade to some 17x8's with fresh tires and sell the stocks with whatever rubber's left on them.
still shines up OK from 10 feet. got a detail job a couple weeks ago in prep for our annual pollen tree-bukake air quality disaster.
