Don't hold your breath. IMO it would be smarter for Mazda to make a turbocharged Mazdaspeed RX-8 than to make a whole new chassis for another 7. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a 4th gen 7 but for that to happen there has to be a strong business case. I think taking advantage of the chassis they already have built for the RX-8 would probably be the more profitable path, as long as they can get comparable performance to the FD.
Its kinda like what Subaru and Mitsubishi are doing. They have a cheaper mass production chassis that they can build a cheap high performance car out of because they didn't have to spend the development money on a whole new chassis.
