Might be some confirmation bias at play. A lot of people get fired up every time gun control becomes a real conversation. People here freaked when they passed some significant state laws last year. There has been no revolution despite much of the state being red.

That said, the laws passed in WA are tame compared to what is being proposed in VA, and you're still seeing massive non-compliance.


Re: the gun range bill...the NRA range is the only range in Virginia that appears to meet that standard. There's no way that law gets passed, and even if it does, it gets struck down so fast it will make your head spin. All these "modest proposals" are doing is dumping donations into the NRA and VCDL. Gonna be an interesting legislative session that's for sure.
