Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy

we switched over to AAA after insuring through Allstate for 15 years. what initially led to it was that Allstate wouldn't insure the camper, like wouldn't even attempt to consider it. however, after looking at the numbers, AAA was similar but we got much better, more personal service through AAA and of course all the roadside and travel perks that they're already known for. Allstate was slowly raising our rates and wouldn't cut us any breaks despite nearly half our family having pretty long-term accounts with them...so they can piss off.

a side-anecdote that also played into it is how Allstate has treated my SIL. last year she got hit, hard, by another driver (his fault) who is ALSO an Allstate customer, but he was likely under some kind of influence. he lawyered up, and has dragged out his trial forever and Allstate's own people are battling each other in endless arbitration. its been a year and my SIL still hasn't gotten settlement on their totaled car (not that Allstate hasn't tried to throw them disturbingly cheap settlement offers) OR her permanently injured wrist...and they're self employed, as if dealing with insurance costs and hoops to jump through aren't already hard enough. their replacement car and all med bills so far have had to come out of their pocket. i can't do business with those jackwagons anymore.
