Seattle was a small city and we loved it here. Now it's a big city with big city problems. I have no complaints about the last eight years, because we've done pretty well... but really the only way to escape the dumb ass politics is to move out of the suburbs. (Remember, we have no state income tax so everything is a levy on property passed by the far left city council.) The suburbs just aren't our thing, so it's a balancing act.

Most tech hubs (e.g. Austin, Minneapolis) have exploded, Even relatively low employment places like Hood River and The Dalles in Oregon are seeing things grow fast because of remote tech workers setting up shop. Tech jobs have been my golden goose, but they definitely change a place.
