The vehicle getting jumped needs to just have the negative end clamped to a ground away from the alternator. That won't be a problem on the ridgeline since the positive is easy to get to.
I have never needed to ground to the battery; doesn’t matter what vehicle is getting jumped. Maybe I’m wrong but I never had something go wrong yet.
