I should have just bought an S4 avant.

i don't think its that comparable.  that car is its own special bag of ownership expenses.  a K04'd 2.0T is plenty of fun in its own right if you can deal with the cam follower nonsense and the up and downsides of turbo bungee cord powerband.  for a cheapish all season manuel wagon, which don't really exist anymore, its hard to beat.

of everything out of your amazing list of crazy ideas, your unicorn is a 911.  just get one, live it out, and revolve the door and be done with it.  you've wanted one since the dawn of time and we're gettin older a day at a time.  get on with it.
