I'm not a fan of this shit - and the West is fraught with very long standing and complicated issues around land use, natural resources, land management, water rights*, disenfranchising native people and stealing their land and so forth. Its not as simple as "Obama let china stealing ur metals!" or "Killary sold all the uraniumZ to Russia, and the Ukraine".
*The water rights thing is probably the most rustling for me - please take some time and read this - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001RT...UTF8&psc=1 - what kills me the most is that most of these "libertarian" get the gov off our ranch lands, would never be there in the first place without heavily subsidized or free water from the army corps of engineers or BLM. Well, that and the giant farming corporations driving fucking mac trucks full of almonds through loopholes and unenforcement of the laws.
