It seems the fantzy lantz washers and dryers have some sort of steam clean/dry capability, which sounds like something nice to have. Between bike underwear and dog beds/blankets, we are perpetually trying to get funk out of everything. They also have specific tub cleaning cycles, although I dont know how that's different from running a cycle with vinegar or a washing machine cleaner.

The old tide odor rescue pods were great with the white powder and orange liquid on top. New formula that I think is just oxy clean powder in a clear pod sucks. I've started using the oxy clean with odor blaster or whatever and that seems to have similar effect with odors. (senior dog who pees on everything and smells like old dog hours after a bath)

This is key as i understand it. My in-laws front loader smells terrible despite how many times i ran the cleaning powder and settings through it. 

I've been leaving the door open on mine - so far so good but granted it's only been 2 months. Been checking for moisture in the door seal, seems fine (again, just 2 months.) Obviously a big key to leaving the door open is having it in a place where you're able to do so.

The leaking is usually caused by build up around door seal if that's what you mean. Even with an excessive amount of dog hair, it would take over a month before we'd have an issue. I just wipe down around the door every so often and it's fine.


Ours isn't really in a great place to leave door open but definitely still possible even with the closet door closed. It only has to be slightly cracked
