at fuel cut in first (8200 rpm) i'm at like...35mph? most of the fast guys were doing the same...first until after the big carousel.
complicating matters further is the peaky powerband. nice flat torque curve but power ramps significantly after 6000 rpm. a lot of balancing between wheelspin and not bogging. again, tires would have been a big difference to really get out of corners on the high side of 1st gear.
