Ahhh homeownership. It's the American dream right?
If it makes you feel any better, I'm already looking at replacing our hardwoods because the stuff they used for this spec home wasn't good and it's chipping at the edges of each board already. That, and they put the 1st level concrete expansion joint right smack dab in the middle of the entire kitchen and living room so we have about an 1/8th of an inch gap in the hardwood all the way across the house. That's causing the chipping to accelerate. We are super careful on our floors too, no shoes in the house and wife uses a gentle process to clean them...it was just a trash product they installed. Our house is coming up on 3 years old.
