No, he's dead serious, and 100% correct. How many times did I cart my drunken friends around in High School and College. Just cause I decided not to touch alcohol till I turned 21, and never to touch drugs they all expected me to be their DD chauffeur. I did it for the longest time because I didn't want them out on the road drunk or high, and I thought I was being a good friend. Finally I got fed up with it and told my friends to go screw themselves and to be responsible for themselves. None of them have died, none of them have hurt anyone, a few have gotten in accidents and suffered the consequences of their actions.

The only person you can and should be responsible for is yourself (unless you're one of those people that are already dead . . . married).
