I'm not suggesting you take a job in Baltimore, but you may need to embrace the idea of a drive to Reston or a Metro ride to somewhere in NW DC. My commute to CEB was never "great" and in the early days, was frequently an hour each way from Fairfax/Reston to Rosslyn. But it was worth it for the most part. Best that one ever got was ~35 minutes when I lived in Alexandria.
This. Also, it's better to have a few offers in hand to give you leverage to negotiate, even if some offers are for work locations you'd prefer not to commute to. You may even be able to offset the commute with a few remote days per week.
