Story time :
That reminded me of the time I drove cross country with my mom in 2005. We were on our way to Vegas from LA and going uphill near a bunch of sand on both sides (death valley?) with the A/C cranked up because it was so hot. I was passing a bunch of people who had their windows down and thought, 'wow, why would they do that' (it was 117* outside). I then saw my coolant temp Guage start to rise. I told my mom that we needed to turn the a/c off and roll down the windows, she questioned it, but we did that. The temp Guage stopped rising, but it wasn't going down... Then I told her that we needed to turn the heat on full blast. She freaked, but as I did it I explained why and the temp Guage finally started to fall back to normal. I could have sworn that the heat coming from the vents was slightly cooler than the heat coming from the windows...
