The Germans tend to make cars that are built in a more complex way but are better to drive as a result.
It's important to keep in mind that for all of the random little stuff Taylor has had wrong with his Mk7 GTI, Joey has owned two that have required... oil changes. Other friends of mine have also had positive experiences with them.
