We had 15” of heavy, wet, snow here, which is at the very top end/possibly more than, this mower is made to handle. My driveway slopes downhill from the house to the road, and it did really good downhill, it wouldn’t do much uphill though. Once I got an initial cut down the middle I was able to make passes with the blade angled and multiple passes in each direction managed to clear the entire driveway. This was with a 42” blade.
About 3/4 done my neighbor showed up with his sons mower, a X758, 4wd, 3 cylinder diesel, with a hydraulic controlled 54” blade. He made quick work of what few parts my little GT225 wouldn’t move. Overall I’m happy. Me and JB (neighbor) proceeded to plow most of the driveways on our road (about 10), before calling it quits. Plowing show with a riding mower, even when it’s deeper than the mower should be able to handle, is absolute hillbilly heaven. I wish we could get weekly snow so I could use this thing!
It's a totally different experience getting snow in the south. People rocking out in their lifted golf karts drinking, quads going zooming by; it's quite the stark difference from NOVA. Even saw one of those side by sides briefly flying by the entrance of our neighborhood on the main street.
All completely accurate. I'm not even making this up, some 16 year old girl flipped her golf cart right in front of our house in the cul de sac. I was walking to get the mail and saw them fly around the corner into our street flat out on two wheels. I waved at her to slow down and about 10 seconds later heard a BOOM. She's lucky she didn't seriously hurt her cart mate, he messed up his foot pretty bad though. I gave her a lot of crap and explained that golf carts can flip easily even in stock trim, when they're all lifted like a brodozer with big tires like her dad's was it makes it even worse.
