I'm thinking of shooting for the moon and going for Amazon. There's 72 openings in Herndon right now. Obviously not in commuting distance but looking at the typical salaries on Glassdoor I could easily swing a one bedroom apartment to stay at Mon-Fri on top of my current expenses. It would suck to see a decent chunk of a raise go to something like that but it would certainly salvage my resume.

The real kicker is they don't seem to care at all what I have done or what I'm currently doing. Their interview process is well-known so it'll be easy to prep for and I shouldn't be blind-sided by anything. Just have to grind leetcode problems and get a good idea what they're looking for in the behavioral portions. The alternative seems to be working in Charlottesville with a 2 hour commute and a $20k pay cut, no thanks.
