Right now Im making sure that my developers are getting nice out of cycle raises to keep up with the market. Most companies dont do that and will underpay people until they leave.
Yup. I'm in a unique profit sharing position right now at my company, but if I wasn't I'd be one of those people. Profit sharing won't last forever, and is sporadic as is. I put in for an out of cycle raise a couple of months ago - they came back with some, but not what I asked for. I might still be shopping in the near future. My boss says "it's a bubble" and wonders why I'd want to explore options. Lol.
It reminds me of the stories I used to hear of the post 9/11 days. I remember hearing about companies giving cars for sign on bonuses and such back then. Not long ago a company near me parked a tesla on the lawn and said "refer someone, win a tesla"...that's getting pretty close.
