I'd search based on the part numbers on the tire rack site; they're usually pretty good about fitment. I'd double check the rears since there are options.
If you're going to track the gti next year with any frequency I'd definitely recommend a set of track brake pads and a separate wheelset with some good rubber. Night and day braking, you will find.
