All over the garage, back yard, crawl space, and found one inside the house today. I generally spray Ortho Home Defense but it doesn’t really work on bigger spiders and only seems to work for a week or so. So I ordered some industrial strength stuff, Talstar P Insecticide. 96 ounces was like $35, but it says you only mix one ounce per gallon and the reviews seem to show that it kills everything. It’s illegal in 3 states, so it must be strong shit. I’ll update everyone one how it works once I get it in.
My wife is all over the insect protection and there's really not much you can do about spiders unless you spray them directly. The barrier chemicals don't really work. Just be careful with that stuff and where you spray it / how you handle it. If it's banned in some states it's probably extremely toxic and could cause long term health problems if you expose yourself to it.
We have had fire ants down this way, especially after the hurricane flooding and I actually glove up and wear a mask any time I handle the Ortho spray and white ant powder
