And with the house on the market now 5 days I'm starting to get a little worried. 

Uh you're good dude, try two months with only one lowball offer and carrying two mortgages.  Our HOA fees jumped to $300 / month due to widespread water damage throughout the neighborhood so nobody wanted to touch it even though it's in an incredible area.  Just super glad the buyer came along when they did, what's odd is that it's sat vacant for over 2 years.  I knew they were buying as an investment but they didn't even try to rent it out.  My wife's old flower planters are still hanging on the deck.

Does this happen a lot? There are two or three houses in my neighborhood that have been sitting vacant for a while now...

Are they Chinese?  Lot cheaper to park their money here...

A chinese name just bought this 1.7M place down the street from our house. It had been "for sale" for like 2 years for 2+ but the owner never lived in it, and rented it out for the 5 years since it was built. The tenants tried to buy, but I guess for not enough. I think you're onto something.
