Except when you get a flat tire on the highway at midnight while driving home with your toddler and all your luggage in the car... after a four hour weather delay and a flight across the country. I really don't care how the car is the rest of the time. It gets driven 5,000 miles/year and I'm only doing 10% of it. The rears are are only eights months old, so the car will be gone before they wear out. We've had this conversation - your priorities are way different than mine.
