Track hangover is in full effect. I blew up 4 distributors on Saturday... had to wait for Advanced to open on Sunday to get one from them (they had to ship it from their warehouse). 2019 will be the year of Coil On Plug... this crap is out of hand.
I used data for the first time this weekend. As expected I'm a little off pace... with the least optimal motor for the track, 150lbs of extra weight in the car, and a stock transmission (outside my Mfactory diff). Sunday I was able to pull a 2:22 with an optimal (all my best sections together) of a 2:19... but with 45 cars on track, holy smokes you are always dealing with something... for me, usually a train of vettes I let by wherever we were.
The pervious car owner (Chad Slagg) runs a chump car setup very similarly to the current engine/power/trans/weight as the civic sits now... and said 2:20 should be the times I run. Im giving up 10mph on all the straights to the vtec cars with prepped transmissions.
looking at my data for VIR... I'm a big sissy at the end of the straights and my 4/5 combo is terrible. The Esses/Southbend and Hogpen seem to be my strengths, as far as closing on people and consistency.
I spent all day yesterday cleaning up the garage (and I still need to work on it) to prep the civic for its new motor (+25hp) and transmission upgrades.
For comp school I need both drivers nets, new belts, and my kill switch wired up.
Pictures will come later...
Were you in HPDE4?
I jumped out for one session in a Spec Miata in HPDE 4 and I thought I accidentally jumped in HPDE 1. Lots of trains and people stacking up on each other, I can see why you didn't get any clean laps.
