I really enjoy watching Isle of Man TT, but only in small doses. Watching in person is a good time. I enjoy going to VIR/Summit and watching NASA races.
I can't pass up watching a few minutes of monster truck freestyle when I find it on TV. The little kid in me loves that stuff.
I used to be so into Monster Jam when I was younger. I would love to go attend an event at some point. Their freestyle technique has changed a lot in the past years. Now if you can’t balance the truck on your front two tires and walk it around the arena, you suck lol

Huge fields with only 2 hours, cars closer to what I race; and lots of names that I personally know. There is far more passing going on in one Continental Race than a year in Weathertech and F1. Since it is more budget, the pit stops aren't gauranteed to be perfect and so it can cause drama in the pits which also is interesting. Basically its just a *budget* F1/IMSA/NASCAR race all rolled into one with all the mistakes/penalties/drivers who want to prove themselves that you would expect on a lower level.
Formula E - Racing isn't racing without the noise. Removes some of the passion, and I got plenty of other things to waste my time with if it doesn't have passion.
I have gotten really into the IMSA series recently because of what you mentioned. It’s great racing too. I had the opportunity to help the JDC Miller TCR RS3 team down at VIR this year, just kind of shadowing, helping crew members wherever they needed, etc. I’ll make a post about it a little later, but I fell in love with that series after I worked on that team for a weekend. Simple cars, relatively speaking, great drivers, lots of drama.
With Formula E, I was at first turned off by the sound. But the racing in that series is one of the best around. I don’t like all the gimmicky fan vote turbo boost crap, but I love the series. I agree, racing needs to have the roar of a huge engine. Nothing will ever beat that. But it’s still a pretty good series
