Nice pick up! Check CL for gear. People are getting rid of things all the time for a great price. Another thing I would highly recommend is getting the suspension set up for your weight i.e, sag. IDK how much you weigh, but that will make a gigantic difference on the ride and control.

Also, while the tread may look good have you checked the date of manuf on the tires? Ample tread does not always mean tires are in good shape. Old tires get hard and lose traction. All things to think about on your path to going fast!

Now that I have a proper bike, my plan will be to take some track lessons and get into that scene, alongside DE in my car. This means I need full race leathers, proper boots, and stainless brake lines probably. None of which I have money for after buying this and furnishing my apartment :'(

None of those thing are required for purchase for the track right away. Almost all of the major track day orgs (TeamPro Motion, G2Evovle, N2, etc) will rent you an boots,gloves, suits for the weekend for a fair price. If you're going to spend coin on a piece of gear immediately I would say boots. Probably also don't need to spend money on stainless lines. Your R6 calipers are probably 100x better than the SV650 units. If you're worried about stopping power, do a good bleed/flush, upgrade the fluid to a Motul equivalent, clean up your rotors, and throw on some more aggressive pads (EBC Sintered).

I am considering NC bike on the 25th with Evovle GT if you're itching to get on track! Come down Friday and we can load up 2 bikes on a trailer.

Yep, made sure the tire age was good as well as tread which I knew all too well. The previous shadow tired had great tread, but were 14 years old haha. Good point on used gear, that’s where a lot of my friends have found good finds for cheap. I’m curious how much renting gear costs for a track day, will have to look into that. I didn’t even think about adjusting the suspension, it feels good to me but maybe I will start messing with the coil over and see how it feels.

I would come to that track day but will be at VIR for a nasa event. Also don’t have the money for any track days this season unfortunately.
