(Waits for comments on calling "whiskey bourbon" "whiskey"; it's the same fuggin thing.)
Whisky. Not whiskey.
And bourbon is made from corn (51% or more). Whisky is made from grain. Not the same.

BROADLY, If they country it's from has a "e" in it, it's Whiskey. Ireland, America, Kentucky. If it doesn't have an E in the name, it's whisky. Scotland, Japan, Canada, Australia. (Again, broadly. Czech Republic and Sweden both make...whisky.)
Bourbon absolutely is a whiskey seeing as Maize is a grain*, it is a variety of whiskey of which there are many. Scotch is also a whisky, and naturally Irish Whiskey is whiskey and Rye is whiskey and there's loads of flavors all over the place. Being a pedant is fun. But it doesn't matter because you can't hear the "e" when you say it.
(*not to say all grain alcohol is whisky, plenty of Vodka is made from wheat, corn, and rye; that doesn't make it whiskey.)
