I am not sure if this is true but I have heard that appliances are a lot like mowers. The ones you get at an independent dealer are a lot higher quality than the ones you buy at a big box, and the dealers usually have their own warranty and deal with the factory. Of course I think it makes you pay more up front but maybe worth it
