Bermuda bruh!  In the spring we mow it every 2 weeks and hit it once with the weed and feed at the beginning of the season.  It mostly takes care of those...those that it doesn't kill usually just start to show at the 2 week mark.  During the summer, the bermuda gets so thick it chokes out most of the weeds and it doesn't grow tall really fast, it just gets really thick.  In the fall the grass goes into dormancy so we might mow it once every month or so and you pretty much don't need to touch it all winter until about March.

I'm actually having the opposite problem right now, I need to get the grass to grow in thicker and taller in some areas.  I may pony up and get someone who specializes in it to take a look.

ahhhh..... you southerners and your warm season grasses.  Im jealous!

fescue looks and feels amazing underfoot but damn is it high maintenance comparatively

I love fescue too man.  There are a few people in our neighborhood that actually overseed with it in the fall so that their lawns look green through the winter (bermuda gets dull yellow / khaki colored when it goes dormant).  There are other people who, I shit you not, actually have their lawns professional spraypainted green in the fall.  Talk about standing out like a sore thumb.  

You also don't have to water bermuda much, it gets stronger during draughts to a point.  The other big downside though is that it's crunchy to walk on and turns to like grass clipping dust when you mow near dormancy....that stuff gets EVERYWHERE in the house, garage, cars.
