I have the same electric Justin has. Mowing the yard is actually pleasurable now and it's something I kinda look forward to. I can't comment on total battery because we have a city yard (0.1 acre), but I haven't had battery issues using self-propelled 90% of the time. The charger has the smart protection Justin talks about, but I keep mine on a power strip so I can easily kill it for extended storage. I replaced a manual push mower because that sucked if the grass got marginally long. Definitely don't have that problem now. The only way I'd go back to gas is if I can ride on it.
