I also found all the electrics that were self-powered were $500+. I just couldn't justify spending that much for not having to deal with a can of gas (which I always have #BCRACECAR). I do want self-proppelled because while my backyard is flat, my side yards have an angle and it just makes it that much easier.
Learn me if I am wrong, I made sure I have 30 days to return the honda powered husqvarna.

Of course now I am looking at reviews...
I feel like electric mowers are somewhere between a techie toy and a fashion item. Every single fanboy review Ive read has been something like. "Its amazing it cuts almost as well as a gas as long as the grass is dry and its not too long, I love it!"
So basically you're paying at least double for a shitty lawnmower.
I bought a $200 craftsman briggs 10 years ago and its worked flawlessly every season with nothing but neglect and abuse. I buy 5 gallons of gas in the beginning of the season and that lasts me all year. Thats less $ than replacing an expensive battery every 4 or 5 years (if you even get that much out of it)
I get that there is a niche use case for electrics if you have the cash to burn, but mowing a decent sized suburban lot isnt one of them.
Hopefully batteries come down in price over the next few years and they can start making more sense but I dont think they are there yet.
and I do have a battery powered trimmer which has been really good
