Bought my first lawnmower (Reston did all our yard work).  Went gas and got a Husqvarna with the Honda motor.  Thing fired up on the first rip and is exceedingly nice to use.  I remember in high school mowing my grandparent's was such a pain.  Don't tell my wife but it's not so bad mowing the lawn.

How much land do you have? Got a free mower from my parents so I never had to buy one. Next one will be electric if it will work with the amount of grass I have. Can't stand having to deal with getting gas and all that after seeing my neighbor with his ballin' electric Kobalt mower.

Replacing batteries on a mower sucks... Proprietary batteries and chargers that aren't cheap. My worx cordless mower uses a $125 replacement battery and a $80 charger. I've already needed to replace one battery in 4 years and the charger is finicky, but I'm able to make it work... So irritating. Gas for me next time.

Plus there's nothing more irritating than either forgetting to charge your mower or it dying half way through a mow... I guess the same can be said for it either not starting due to a spark or fuel issue on a gas mower.

I have a gas backpack blower that I use throughout the year and haven't had an issue yet.
