i love turbo audis for reasons i can't explain, and its so awesome to see you putting the miles on it. i get much more joy out of seeing these cars on the road and exercising their engineering than sitting in some collector's warehouse doing nothing. take the rock chips as a badge of honor earned from miles of making you happy.
i never did understand why audis have such appallingly short t-belt intervals. it was 60k on my old 1.8T and i thought that was pushing it for a limited lifespan. 35k seems crazy if you drive as frequently as most people. what are they making these belts out of, horsehair and elmers?
all audis do this, either through physical abuse or financial collapse. its part of the charm.
