Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy
We pay $1150/6mo for three cars, but insurance in WA is pretty expensive.

GTI: $430
F31: $460
911: $260

I just looked up esurance and it would be $810 for BMW+GTI (vs. $890), but they won't cover the 911 because it's too old. I've looked at places like Haggerty for it, but Geico is actually cheaper even though I've specified the replacement cost as $50,000. Maybe this is a first world problem, but I'm not sure it's worth it to have two different insurance companies, especially since I'd lose multicar discount on the 911.

Has anyone used esurance's drive track app with success? It's like the ODB2 modules some carriers have, but they use the accelerometer on your phone over 50 trips. Our household only drives 7000 miles a year, so I'm thinking this might actually help.

edit: looks like Geico ended their ODB2 option

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
