hrug: We did it in the basement and ended up loving it more than we thought we would. We didn’t even try to match our main level hardwood and it holds up so damn well.
Helped a lot when our hot water heater leaked into our downstairs bathroom and main rooms. Had to refinish a couple baseboards but obviously the tile was perfect.
Will it look silly in 30 years? Probably, but our main floor hardwood is already scratched to shit in 3 years....
