even if the part isn't necessarily in functional shape, you never know if someone may need it to mock up sizing on another build. case in point - wiring harness - someone may need the stocker to judge wire lengths, connector types, wire guage, even material type...even if they never intend to actually install and use the original part. i'd throw it in a box and keep it in storage for at least a little while.
