I can’t blame you for getting rid of the intercooler and other parts that are either useless/easily replaceable. But, you might be well served to keep some of the old wiring and sensors you are replacing that are technically still working. Like you’ve said other places in this thread, some of those are becoming hard to find or increasingly expensive, might be worth hanging on to.
