You used to get so H&B'ed about C6 Z06's until you saw premature creasing & wear on the shitty GM leather (lol).  So....get you a C6 Z06 (or hell, ZR1) and swap the seats:

I don't recall you ever having an actual "sports" car...

Those seats are so money.  

The Corvette has always been there but yeah the seats and overall interior and build quality has always been suspect.  Plus, ideally I'd like a car with AWD and some kind of ground clearance (even though I've looked at some options that have neither of those things) or at least something that isn't going to go crazy tail happy and try to kill me.

That is accurate, I have never owned a 2 seater sports car.  Just some tuned Japanese rockets and fast luxo-barges.  I prefer the utility of 4 doors even in a sporty / high horsepower vehicle

My Dad has been through I think over 50 vehicles in his life time at this point...

Edit: Do you like a perpetual state of car payments? That doesn't sound like fun to me.

I've always looked at vehicles as a commodity so car payments have never been a concern for me.  Everybody has hobbies that they delegate their fun money to, cars have always been one of them for me.  I'm getting away from that more as I inch toward 40 but the itch of having something fast and fun as a way to blow off steam does creep back sometimes.  

Which means I'll probably have an F-Type this time next year
