Well, for age, they're 20-25 years old now here in the states, so just now beginning to enter "official" classic/antique status - and we saw what happened to 70's muscle cars (especially rare packages/options) in the 90's/early 00's price wise.  To draw a parallel, those muscle cars will ebb and flow in price as the target collector audience shifts & ages out, but if anything, we're just getting started with 90's Japanese iron as the aspirational Gran Turismo playing/F&F watching youth gain wealth in their 30's & 40's today & in the years ahead.

For rarity, talking the Supra in the US in particular (production numbers vary depending on source), there were about 11,500 sold from '93 to '98.  Roughly 4,200 of them were TT 6-speeds.  So, fairly rare - especially when you factor in finding one that isn't hacked up.  That particular combo in the eBay ad is roughly 1 of ~10.

Then, there's the whole mystique/performance legend/king of the imports nostalgia that affected & continues to affect the aforementioned target age group vying for these cars.  It's not *all* pent up hype either, the car stands on it's own - any road test from C&D, R&T, Motor Trend etc. back in day backs up its cred as a 90's crusher.  It makes sense.

I don't doubt why new money gen-X'ers are buying these, the Supra is a great car.  But $100,000 buys you a LOT of ACTUAL classic car, completely restored or resto-modded take your pick.  If I'm truly looking at it as an investment, I'd hang my hat on classic American muscle before I would any Japanese car.

If you're super rich and have a hard-on for adding a low mileage Supra to your collection it's your money dudebro.  I would call out one of my friends if they were doing it though~
