Well cats out of the bag. When Joey began mentioning his love affair with that German ripoff of BRG, I played around with picking up his GTI, first as a joke, but as I drove it more and more, realized how practical and fun it is. Originally we were discussing making the switch around April or May, so he really threw me for a loop Saturday/Sunday when he said this is it. Decided to get my ducks in a row, get a lil' ole loan from the credit union, make sure insurance wouldn't kill me, then hesitantly said "I guess I'm doing it." Should be finalizing everything with the bank tomorrow, start making the title transfer, and hopefully I can start driving it to work by Thursday.
The plan is to keep the Miata as a weekend/track car, and keep the GTI stock AF (except Joey's sick as tits boost gauge).
Side note: I still haven't said "yes, I'm buying the car," but the bank movement says otherwise. This is my first big car purchase and I'm so excited/feel like I want to vomit. Tell me I'll be okay, dad.
