I know one of our members had their steering wheel trim all scratched up from the recall on their E46 M3 so maybe consider taking before pictures just in case..

That's a good idea. My E46 M3 had the passenger side done before I purchased it, and driver's side done under my ownership, and they did a fine job. But given this involves a lot of leather that is currently very nice, I will take a lot of photos.
