I thought the power on my Cayman S was fine. It doesn't have the grunt of a V8 but it's a light and nimble car with a glorious flat-6 and excellent feel. The 2009+ is clearly better and doesn't have any oiling issues, so I would get one of those if they fit in budget.
Bodymotion makes a nice billet aluminum oil pan that I am sure costs $5k or something stupid
