Hey, Taylor checking in here to make a wild guess.
I would assume a catch can needs to be serviced too often to put on a production vehicle. Can you imagine selling a car and telling someone they need to have their catch can drained every XXX amount of miles? Sure it could line up with oil changes, but that's a liability if lube techs forget to do it and it fills up and starts pouring oil down your intake.
That may not be the reason, and may be a bit extreme, but that's my argument for one side. Be gentle, guys.
