What's your timeframe on all of this stuff? More importantly, where does your dad live and when can I see this?

Thank ya! The idea I have right now is to send it off to a rotary shop as winter approaches for the general sorting of anything I haven't yet gotten to and the installation/tuning of a few items. I really want to focus on it being stock-ish and 100% healthy, things like hoses, seals, sensors, fan switches etc. before anything else on my list like the exterior bits.

We're definitely planning to hit up Great Falls C&C at some point, I do want to organize another Nova-MM'er outing to Katie's so expect a FB blast before long

Thanks, totally agree - if nothing else I can say I owned a wacky rotary-engined sports car and go back to plebian motor configs later :lol: On the color, I really like white on these cars too, but comparing them in person, the curves just work so much better with red, I'm glad I went with it!

I still think the Ridgeline would have been better at hauling stuff.

This is awesome, I love the OEM+ idea even though the pull of the V8 swap is strong. I understand what you mean about the swap process burning people out because I've been there. It turns more into the thrill of the chase than actually scoring the finished product. Very excited to follow this project!

Yeah, I can only imagine what keeping a rotary happy for possibly years and then jumping into a total re-engineering of the car must do to a person's sanity - having this as a mildly warmed over original example is totally my lane right now.

I'll harp on your 2nd point for all the similar comments, but I totally want to share the experience of this car with anyone who is interested. That's seriously at least half the enjoyment I get out of cars, and I was bummed that so many people couldn't even fit in the Miata if they wanted to. So by all means, the doors (and hatch if that's your thing) are always open for you!

I haven't yet, I went to the Sunday Dulles one a handful of times. Will definitely check it out though soon, and will coordinate docking procedure with you & the M3. Sidenote: I got one of my roommate's addicted to RCR and your car might be a minor celebrity in my household now

you're a man dedicated to his pursuit of the enthusiast experience, for whatever that means, and i respect you completely for it. not even joking, thanks for keeping the rotary. there will never be another car like the FD for better or worse, and it looks like you found an awesome example that was clearly loved.

that said, i won't be satisfied until i see some video of that thing burping 3 foot flames on every downshift like a proper angry rotary should. :beer:
