Electile Dysfunction (Current students plz look!)

So... check this out. John McCain, fresh off his tax payer funded healthcare surgery, gets off his hospital bed and flies back to DC to vote for a debate on healthcare that will ostensibly remove said healthcare for a large swath of United States citizens (nice!).

THEN - he clambers up on his soap box to give some self aggrandizing, grandiose speech about how this has been gone about the wrong way. Republicans have been hiding in rooms and creating a bill that is no good, that they need to reach across the aisle and work together (yay, unity!) and that he WILL NOT vote for the healthcare bill as it stands.

America, everybody, America. This fuck is the embodiment of what is wrong with our politics today, for both sides of the aisle. This had everything - selfishness, self importance, hypocrisy and just general douchiness.

Except, no. He voted for the motion to continue the debate, not the actual bill. His statement that he wouldn't vote for it in it's current form is still valid.

As to why McCain is allowed anywhere in public still, I do not know. Stick him in a god damn nursing home, his time has passed. Time to relax and reflect.

I hope you don't know or will know someone with brain cancer. It's a terrible fucking disease and the only thing most people want is to live their normal life. Saying he should be relegated to a nursing home to relax and reflect is immature and selfish. I am most definitely NOT a McCain fan, but show some respect for a man who was tortured for 5+ years in service of his country.

He can continue life away from politics. He should be allowed to carry on like normal at who's expense? Ours? Why? Because he has cancer? I'm sure he can give speeches at a college or somewhere still and be given purpose. This isn't the only job in the world.
