Blood-gorged ticks (that we would have to pull or burn off) were pretty common, and one time our dog Remus brought home a severed adult deer leg and was covered in blood like a damn pagan savage.
They are also 99% inside dogs and dont have a yard so the risk of them coming in covered in shit is pretty damn low.
